Overview

The VB-S32D inherits the high performance features of previous Canon Micro PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) dome cameras, but includes significant improvements with a new image sensor and processor. Ideal for retail, commercial, and surveillance markets, the VB-D32D contains a new 2.1 megapixel (1920 x 1080) high sensitivity image sensor, 3.5x optical zoom lens, that provides exceptional low light performance with a minimum subject illumination level of just 0.15 lux at 1/30 shutter speed in a compact form factor. The new image processor provides high quality video streaming, including H.265, H.264, and MJPEG video formats up to 30 fps. Along with improved video, the VB-S32D also now supports the AAC-LC audio standard for improved audio quality up to 48 kHz at 128 kbps.

An available simple camera setting allows users to instantly set their camera up to fit their application such as Motion Priority, Low Light Visibility, and Data size reductions. The VB-S32D is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) allows for single cable installation. The VB-S32D also supports ONVIF profile T to allow for quick integration with 3rd party video management solutions.

With all the new features and performance enhancements, the Canon VB-S32D continues the Canon tradition of exceeding the demands of the security and surveillance market.

Remarkable Low Light Performance

The VB-S32D features a new 1/2.8 CMOS sensor. With this high sensitivity sensor, minimum subject illumination performance has been drastically improved from previous generation model, to 0.15 lux (VB-S32D) from 0.95 lux (VB-S30D Mk II). As a result of improved minimum subject illumination performance, even in dark scenes, images can be recognized clearly in detail with less noise.

New Engine Dramatically Enhances Video Streaming

  • The VB-S32D features a new video and network engine that enables delivering videos at maximum 60 fps for Full HD video.
  • In addition to the new support for H.265 with compression efficiency higher than H.264, the compression efficiency has also been greatly improved for H.264, compared to current models resulting in a significant reduction in the delivery bit rate.

AAC-LC High Quality Audio Coding Support

In addition to the G.711 μ-law used in current models, the new models support the international standard AAC-LC for higher quality speech coding. AAC stands for Advanced Audio Coding. It has a higher compression efficiency than G.711 and enables the conversion of wide frequency and the rise and decay in the original sound into high quality digital audio signals with greater fidelity.
