Canon ChromaLife100

ChromaLife100 is a system that improves beauty and permanence of printed images, realized with the combination of Canon's dye ink* and select genuine Canon photo media.

By printing with the ChromaLife100 system, your printed photos will resist color fading and you can enjoy long-lasting beautiful photos displayed in a typical indoor environment.

*ChromaLife100 compliant ink types: CLI-8, CL-41/51/52 and BCI-16

Introduction and Purpose
As an aid to consumers, Canon Inc. has pre-performed simulated, accelerated image permanence testing to predict estimated longevity of photos printed with the Canon ChromaLife100 system. Canon, however, cannot guarantee the longevity of prints; results may vary depending on printed image, drying time, display/storage conditions and environmental factors.

Making your printed images last longer
Light, environmental gases, high temperature and humidity can accelerate color fading. When displaying your photographs, avoid high intensity lighting and use glass-filtered frames. Photos stored in the dark, using archival quality albums or storage materials, will tend to last longer than photos that are exposed to light. Avoid high temperatures and high humidity to promote the image permanence of your photos.

* Results based on accelerated testing by Canon under controlled temperature, humidity, and gas conditions. For the 100-year figure, Canon simulated storage in an album with plastic sleeves. For the 30-year lightfastness figure, Canon simulated display of a photo in a glass frame in an indoor location without direct sunlight or other high intensity light. The 10-year gastfastness figure is based on a testing ratio of gases typical to indoor air composition (O3: NOx:SOx--3:19:1) with 100 times concentration in order to accelerate color fading. Canon cannot guarantee the longevity of prints; results may vary depending on printed image, drying time, display/storage conditions and environmental factors.

Print samples
All samples are simulated images. Since sample images were scanned and converted to CMYK, the colors will differ from actual samples.
