Overview
Canon's new ME20F-SH Multi-Purpose Camera features a newly designed Canon 2.2MP high sensitivity CMOS sensor helping users to shoot crisp, clean high definition full-color video in extreme low light conditions. The camera's versatile, rugged, modular design, combined with a 35mm full frame CMOS sensor with an equivalent sensitivity in excess of 4,000,000 ISO, make it ideal for a wide variety of markets. A remarkable example of Canon's innovative engineering, the camera can be used for television, cinema, nature and wildlife, documentary production, astronomy, military, security and law enforcement.
Features
Exceptional Low Light Performance
The ME20F-SH Multi-Purpose Camera features a newly developed Canon full frame 35mm CMOS sensor with an equivalent sensitivity in excess of 4,000,000 ISO. Able to capture full color 1080p video up to 60fps, the ME20F-SH camera can be ideal for use in extreme low light environments.
This innovative 35mm full frame CMOS sensor has photosites measuring 19 micrometers square. The large photosites allow for exceptional low light performance, with a minimum subject illumination of 0.0005 or below (at maximum 75 dB gain).

Canon's DIGIC DV 4 image processor supports a dynamic range of 12 stops along with Wide DR and Canon Log gamma profiles, helping to minimize the loss of shadow detail, and overexposure of the high-brightness areas.
The camera allows users to capture subjects even under some of the most challenging low light conditions, making the ME20F-SH camera ideal for a wide range of nighttime and low light applications.

Versatile, Rugged Design
The ME20F-SH camera features a rugged, versatile box style design that allows the camera to be easily configured for a variety of professional applications. The camera design allows it to be combined with a wide range of accessories making it suitable for use in television, nature and wildlife, documentary production, security and law enforcement.
Full HD Video up to 60 fps
Depending on the end user's needs, the ME20F-SH Multi-Purpose Camera can produce video in full HD imaging at a full frame rate of up to 60 fps, with selectable frame rates of 59.94P / 59.94i / 50.00P / 50.00i / 29.97P / 25.00P / 23.98P.
Professional Connectivity
The ME20F-SH camera features industry standard connection terminals allowing the camera to be used in a wide range of applications from recorded content to live broadcast. By employing 3G/HD-SDI and HDMI output terminals, Canon's ME20F-SH can output audio/video to peripheral equipment including external recorders and monitors.
The camera is also equipped with Genlock input for camera switching in a multi-camera, live broadcast environment.

Connectivity
The Canon RC-V100 Remote Controller can be used to remotely control camera operation via either the supplied 2.5mm mini-jack or 8-pin jack for RS-422.
A 3.5mm stereo mini-jack allows the camera to connect with an external microphone.
Power can be provided through standard 12 volt, 4-pin XLR, as well as 2-pin connector for use in more permanent installations.

Compatible with EF-mount Lenses
The ME20F-SH Multi-Purpose Camera is compatible with Canon's line of EF mount lenses. The camera comes equipped with a Canon locking EF mount, allowing the lens to be attached or removed without the need to rotate the lens barrel. This facilitates changing lenses in applications where multiple accessories are attached to the lens.
The front of the camera features a 12-pin lens terminal enabling power connectivity with EF mount CINE-SERVO lenses or 2/3" broadcast lenses with a third party adapter. Support for lens communication will be added in a future firmware update.
Additional Features
The ME20F-SH features an IR cut filter that can be removed for infrared shooting. During typical daylight shooting conditions, the IR cut filter is used to block unwanted IR light to help ensure color fidelity and reproduction. In extreme low light conditions, removing the cameras IR filter allows IR light to reach the camera's sensor, enhancing the camera's ability to identify objects within the scene. Uniquely, the IR functionality of the camera allows for color reproduction, increasing the ability to recognize and differentiate objects.
The removable IR cut filter is incorporated with the ND filter stack, allowing the IR cut filter to be activated in the same way as the camera's ND filters.
