MELVILLE, N.Y., January 5, 2015 - Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, announced today the PIXMA MX492 Wireless1 Inkjet Office All-In-One (AIO) printer, featuring a compact design that is 30-percent smaller than the PIXMA MX472 printer. This new model is ideal for users looking to save space in their college dorm room or home office who want to conveniently print high-quality documents or photos. With easy-to-use features, including advanced wireless connectivity and fast print speeds, this printer is the little workhorse to help you complete important day-to-day tasks.

"With a size more appropriate for smaller settings, the PIXMA MX492 printer is ideal for the user who prints high quality documents or images but has limited desk space to work with," said Yuichi Ishizuka, president and COO, Canon U.S.A., Inc. "This new model provides key printing solutions at an affordable price without sacrificing any of the features users have come to expect from the PIXMA MX-series of printers."

Designed to improve your daily efficiency, the Canon PIXMA MX492 printer includes an automatic document feeder (ADF), borderless printing, fax function, and fast print speeds of approximately 8.8 images per minute (ipm)2 for black and white prints, and 4.4 ipm2 for color. The printer offers high-quality printing with a four-color hybrid ink system that combines dye ink for vivid colors and black pigment ink for sharp text.

The printer features advanced wireless connectivity solutions providing the flexibility to manage print jobs from nearly anywhere in the home. With the PIXMA Printing Solutions3 (PPS) application, enabling direct access to the cloud through PIXMA Cloud Link4,users can easily print and scan images and documents from several of the most popular online social platforms and services, such as Facebook®, Twitter®, Flickr®, Photobucket®, Dropbox®, Evernote®, Creative Park and Creative Park Premium along with Google Drive and Microsoft® OneDrive. Another advantage of PPS is the ability to check ink model number information, online printer user manuals and other important printer information.

Helping increase productivity even further is Access Point Mode. With this feature, users can connect their compatible mobile device to the printer directly through Wi-Fi®, eliminating the need for an external wireless access point, such as a router. Also, users can share scanned documents and photos easily by scanning data directly to email, or attaching scanned data to a draft email in their webmail account

The Canon PIXMA MX492 is available in black and white, with an estimated retail price of $99.995.
