Service Notice: DC10 Data Recording Advisory
Please be advised that if a specific sequence of steps is performed on certain Canon DC10 DVD camcorders an error in data recording may occur and some images may not play back. The error may occur if, after recording, the DC10 camcorder is, in sequence, switched from OFF to PLAY mode and the DVD is ejected in less than five seconds
Your DC10 DVD camcorder may require service only if it meets the following two conditions. You may also contact Canon for assistance in determining whether these conditions have been met.
- The seventh digit in the serial number is "0" or "1"
The serial number may be found beneath the bar code inside the battery compartment. See photo
below. - A black dot mark does not appear on the inside of the DC In terminal cover.
The DC In terminal cover may be found on the rear of the camcorder next to the eject switch OPEN.

We have set up a plan to assist our customers and service the DC10 camcorders that may malfunction due to this situation. Repair service will be done free of charge.
