Firmware Notice: Firmware Update for imageCLASS MF8170, MF5770, MF5750, MF5730, MF3110, MF3111
New Firmware is for users of the following Canon products:
- Color imageCLASS MF8170c
- imageCLASS MF5770
- imageCLASS MF5750
- imageCLASS MF5730
- imageCLASS MF3110
- imageCLASS MF3111
Please update your product to the latest firmware version to ensure full operational functionality.

After the download is complete, please open the downloaded file and follow the instructions for the firmware installer.

Canon field testing has found that there are issues related to internal firmware timing sequences with these models. This update adjusts these internal timing sequences to prevent unit from locking up. The symptoms displayed include the following:
Unit displays the following message “Adjusting, waiting to scan”. The unit will remain in this state for more than 3 minutes during copying, scanning or sending faxes.
Unit may stop printing mid-page during printing.
If you have experienced the above symptoms your unit requires this update.
Temporary Symptom Fix:
If you encountered any of the symptoms listed under “Firmware release notes” and require an immediate although temporary remedy, please follow the directions below:
Turn off the machine by removing the power cord from the receptacle, wait 5 seconds, then reconnect the power cord.
Note: Please be aware that any documents stored in memory will be lost if the printer is powered off for 3 minutes or longer.
Note: Since this is only a temporary workaround, please upgrade the firmware version to the corrected one from the aforementioned page.
