Steve Sanders

Steve Sanders is a seasoned professional photographer whose career spans a wide range of disciplines, including weddings, portraits, sports, events, commercial advertising, architecture, and food photography. This diverse foundation ultimately led him to his current position as Director of Photography for the Kansas City Chiefs Football Club. Steve has been photographing the Chiefs for more than 30 years, with the past 16 years dedicated to the organization in a full-time capacity.

A graduate of the Colorado Institute of Art, Steve has long been committed to mentoring and developing aspiring photographers. Throughout his career, he has taken pride in identifying and cultivating emerging talent. Over the past decade, many of the young photographers he has guided have gone on to lead photography departments for other professional sports teams or to shoot with the next generation of student photographers at major Power Five universities.

Steve’s strong relationships with the team, staff, and players have earned him deep trust both on and off the field—an essential component of his ability to capture exceptional, career-defining imagery. His tenure with the Chiefs includes documenting three Super Bowl Championships and two AFC Championships, milestones that underscore both his access and his artistry.
