Incompatibilities between Mac OS X Lion (10.7) and our previously released Mac OS X 10.6 Printer and Fax drivers
We greatly appreciate your patronage of Canon products.
We need to inform you that, due to certain incompatibilities between Mac OS X Lion (10.7) and our previously released Mac OS X 10.6 Printer and Fax drivers, you may not be able to print and an error log file will be generated that could potentially fill up the hard drive of your Macintosh computer.
The following drivers are not compatible with Mac OS X Lion (10.7) and may cause the above issue when used with the affected products listed below:
Mac UFR II LT Printer Driver Version 2.00-2.02
Canon PS Printer Driver for Macintosh Version 2.00-3.30
Canon FAX Driver for Macintosh Version 2.00-3.40

Phenomenon
When using the above listed incompatible drivers, if a print job is submitted from the TextEdit or Preview application in Mac OS X Lion (10.7), the print job may fail and an error log will be generated. This error log may continue to write until the entire hard drive has become filled. If this occurs, the user may not be able to log in after restarting his or her Macintosh computer.

Countermeasure
It is essential that you download the latest drivers from the Canon USA web site immediately if
you are using or plan to use Mac OS X Lion (10.7). Please be sure to delete any existing print
queues for your device and create a new print queue after installing the updated driver.
The interim driver posted in July 2011 allows for basic functionality under Mac OS X Lion (10.7). Limitations may apply to the use of this driver. The current compatible driver versions are:
Mac UFR II LT Printer Driver Version 2.03
Canon PS Printer Driver for Macintosh Version 3.31
Canon FAX Driver for Macintosh Version 3.41
Official Mac OS X Lion (10.7) printer and fax drivers are expected to be released by the 4th quarter of 2011.
