Canon to Showcase Innovative Mixed Reality Solutions and Next-Generation AR Optics at AWE USA 2026

At AWE USA 2026, which is held from June 15-18 in Long Beach, CA, Canon will demonstrate its latest advancements in spatial computing technologies and core optical components designed to foster industry collaboration and co-creation.
Next-Generation XR Software for Flexible Spatial Workflows
Canon will showcase “MREAL Collaborator”, its latest XR software engineered to support and enhance usability and collaboration in the manufacturing industry. Featuring a highly intuitive user interface (UI), the software allows users without specialized 3DCG expertise to operate the system seamlessly and manipulate spatial data with ease. “MREAL Collaborator” is compliant with the OpenXR™Footnote2 standard, enabling seamless, real-time 3DCG data sharing across different supported XR devices and remote locationsFootnote1. By easing the barriers of specific hardware and physical distance, this software fosters fluid communication and strengthens team collaboration. To accelerate widespread adoption in the U.S. market, Canon is announcing a free trialFootnote3 of the software during the event. Prospective clients and developers can sign up at the booth to be the first to experience the streamlined workflow when the trial launches in early July 2026.
Concept Model of a Pocket-Size, High-Image-Quality MR Device
Canon will feature a special showcase of its pocket-size, highly portable, and lightweight Mixed Reality (MR) device concept modelFootnote4. While remaining ultra-compact, the device delivers high-definition visual performance and is planned to offer seamless compatibility with XR applications. As a concept model currently under development and not yet available for purchase, Canon is actively seeking co-creation partners across a wide range of industries at AWE to explore new value creation leveraging this technology.
Showcase of High-Efficiency Waveguide for AR Glasses
Leveraging its strengths in optical technology, Canon has developed a high-efficiency waveguide prototypeFootnote4 for AR glasses and will exhibit it at AWE USA 2026.
