LabelStream LS2000 Inkjet Label Press at a Glance*

Built on water-based inkjet technology, the LabelStream LS2000 is an excellent solution designed for label converters looking for a reliable, productive, and flexible digital press that can help users fulfill the demand for shorter runs of diverse, self-adhesive labels.

Quality

The LabelStream LS2000 is a five-color (CMYK plus white) inkjet label press that can print at up to 40 m/min with a maximum printing width of 340 mm. The press features a Canon-developed 2400 x 1200 dpi printhead with an ink circulation mechanism that keeps the ink moving along a precise flow path to the tips of all the nozzles, which is designed to help minimize nozzle failure due to clogging. To assist with reliable and stable production, nozzle checks and sensors help the press determine if printhead maintenance is required and certain quality control features can be set up to be automated, including color measurement and adjustment. Furthermore, the digital front end offers tight workflow integration designed for outstanding ease of use and operational efficiency.

Flexibility

The new inks in the LabelStream LS2000 inkjet label press are high-density, water-based polymer inks that have been developed specifically for this new printhead by Canon. These specialized inks contain highly saturated pigments and help produce a wide color gamut while forming a very thin layer on the substrate. This helps reduce the scattering of light, aiding in superb color reproduction. White ink capability comes standard and allows for printing on transparent film and other media—providing a white base, which can be used as an undercoat for other inks for vivid and clear color printing. The inks for the LabelStream LS2000 press are suitable for a wide range of applications.

Versatility

Labels used on the exterior of everyday items—from personal care to household products—are often required to be produced in small batches and with fast delivery times due to shorter product lifecycles—and with printing speeds of up to 40 m/min, the LabelStream LS2000 is designed to support your needs. The new label press can handle substrates from coated to synthetic paper and film, including low-heat-resistant film, opening possibilities for diverse label applications. The thin ink layer of the print is designed to allow printed substrates—including textured media—to maintain their original look and feel.
